My First Post
Yay! Welcome to my blogsite (or whatever you choose to call it). I am just happy that I have a way to share with you all what is happening in my life. I have been at Orientation for over a week now and God has not stopped challenging me. Our first week has been focused on spiritual warfare and what Satan does to try to render us useless. It is such good information based directly out of scripture and just has made me realize my dependency on God. We literally have to walk in the spirit every moment. I was convicted because my times with God have been irregular and shallow. I have only cheated myself. I have been living on the morsels of God handed to me by church instead of fishing for myself out of the vast feast of the Bible. I am learning dependence on quality, quantity time with God. And He is so good! We are also participating in house churches that consist of a group of us meeting together in a living room, praising, sharing, worshiping and glorifying God. This is a common form of worship for believers throughout the world. It has been a BIG change but God is continually faithful blessing me if I come with a giving heart. So many things are new and exciting here, I can't wait to share. I will be writing here often while I have constant internet access here at training, but I can't guarantee the frequency of my posts once I arrive on the field in Niger. There has been an internet cafe in my town for three years, but it has never had internet. That sounds typical for Africa. I have one more exciting thing I would like to share!! My Team, David & Renee English and Myself has altered an IMB statistic!! Out of the 618 "unengaged entities" (people groups in West Africa without Missionary presence) We have the opportunity to cross one off the list. The Sokoto Fulani were unengaged, but because God has called us to serve there are now off the list. That is exciting. Please, please pray for them! In His service, Danielle
